Wash your horse really well and try to use some naturally whitening products that i'm sure the local horse or pet store has. Get some Show Sheen (its to make manes and tail really silky and shiny, it;s a spray bottle) and hoof polish. Then you are all set! I recommend that you wear something that makes you stand out from everyone else because that's one of the most important things; make the judge look at you twice!! For remembering the dressage steps, you 've just got to memorize it, it;s not that long and if you think that you can;t memorize it, well, you just have to. I thought that i wouldn't be able to memorize a Trail class steps but i did in about ten minutes, i was really panicking but i did it! We are totally capable of memorizing a few steps, we do it at school all the time! So, just take it easy and try your best. Good luck!
white horse...get a chalk block to make them really white. Wash them really well the day before. black hoof polish makes legs appear stockier, clear makes legs look finer. Ose white shoe polish to cover scars, stain remover (4 horses) is very needed 4 light horses!
Well i can help with making your horse look really nice... Bathe him the night before using ivory dish soap, or some whitening shampoo but i heard ivory dish soap or "Mrs Stewart's" (don't use too much and don't allow horse to stand in the sun afterwards) ...I'd put a sheet on him so he doesn't roll... Then the day of the show, I'd put baby oil on him to make him shine and also put baby powder on him to make him look extra white.
i like to memorize mine just so i can go ahead an process the next step in my head but if your too too nervous about it you are allowed a reader just make sure it is someone you can trust wont make a mistake. give him a bath using dawn or palmolive dish soap(it sounds silly but it works)
When I have to memorize things for school I put it to a familar tune. Hope this helps.
ack, your horse is getting on now? Eeeek! You mean on the computer, so he/she can see the tips? o_O
Ok, that was random, but the way you put that looked so funny! :D

Tips on dressage test would be to just make sure you eat something beforehand so that you dont feel faint or weak. Take deep breaths, stay calm, just tell yourself you know you can do it. And even if you make a mistake is it such a big deal? I mean, your first test? Everyone's entittled to a couple mistakes! And remember to have fun, you'll do great!
It also helps to have a cheering section! LOL
I find any kind of green shampoo works well on greys and white socks. Then chalk and bandage legs. Rinse over whole body with glo white!
for making him look whiter bathe him in something like quic silver or white knight or some concentrated whitening shampoo the day before the show
Clean out everything from the stall that he will be spending the night in and put in all new shavings so he doesn't get stains from rolling in his stall
before you get on put on hoof polish before you go in the ring because when you put black hoof polish next to white it looks extra white
after you bath him let him dry and if he still looks dirty bath him again
good luck in your show!!!
about a white horse- bathe him regularly in a shampoo that enhances white fur. there's probably some at a local tack store.
