Acceptable dress for showing?

What is Acceptable dress for showing in halter classes, I know the basics, long sleeve shirt, cowboy hat, jeans, boots, I know im gonna go with a straw hat, should I go black or white, also white shirt, im gonna wear a nice pair of wranglers, I haven't decided to whether to wear a pull of pull on boots or justin lace ups, but should I wear a bolo tie or neck tie, all my buddies wear a bolo tie but I kind of want to wear a neck tie, if so what color?
Answers:
i have seen any p0ne wear a tie but also make sure you wear a belt and just another hint baby oil on the face of the horse makes them shine and vaseline on your teeth will get you smiling if you have problems, also you cant win because you are good in these kind of judgings , its wht the judge likes so dont feel bad if you lose.
i would go with pull on just cause they are ore likely more comfortable to be in.
You will melt in black, wear white. Make you tie match your halter on the horse it will tie you together. Oh and heres a tip smile, boys never smile out there. I have seen a judge give a blue just for the smile alone. Shhhhh lol its a secret.
It sounds like with the coloring of your horse, you will probably want to forgo the jeans (because they are less formal) and get a nice pair of slacks with a long sleeved shirt, i would stick with something grey. If you are showing in a Class A or higher show, you will probably want to wear a jacket as well, and you might want to wear a nice maroon shirt under the gray jacket for contrast. It's all about blending in with your horse, not standing out. If you were showing a Quarter or a Paint, jeans and the cowboy hat might be okay, but because of the breed, I would go with something a little less "western" and a little more classic. This is, of course, if you are showing actual "HALTER". If you are showing as a youth in "showmanship" then the jeans might be all right, but I would go with black jeans and a darker colored shirt, the white will stand out too much. Also, never forget to wear gloves, a belt and a tie of some sort (if you're going formal, do a neck tie, if you are going more casual, wear a bollo tie). Good luck.
pull on cowboy boots here in sc lace ups r unacceptable. in sc they want u to match ur horse. so if ur horse is black and white u wear a black and white shirt. u dont need a bolo tir or a neck tie. but blue jeans only.thats all for around here ive never shown halter out of state
I would go with this. Instead of Wrangler jeans, go with a nice pair of the Riata dress pants from Wrangler or Dockers. They are classier, and are lighter in weight, so you will not suffocate. DO NOT wear white. Looks awful in the show ring because it shows every speck of dirt. Wear a dark gray of you do not like black. Your boot style does not matter as much as how clean and polished they are. Make sure all of your clothes are pressed and neat. Straw hat is fine. Light color prefered. If you want to wear a necktie, then do a bright jewel color. I think you said your horse is gray. The great thing about them is they work with about any rich color you want to put next to them. Ruby red, royal blue, emerald green, etc. Good Luck and have fun!
Whatever you decide is great, but most importantly your clothes should fit you perfectly and the colors you chocie should compliemnt your horse as well. IF you show in the summer, a light colored straw hat is good. If you horse has a black mane, tail and body color is greay, try to compliment your horse with wearing black as well with a colored shirt.
