About how much does it cost to adopt a wild mustang from the BLM in Oklahoma?

Answers:
I've adopted a lot of mustangs from the BLM. $125 is the current rate. I would recomend getting your application filled out and approved as quickly as possible, and then getting to the auction early. The auctions went through a period where they were "live bid" meaning they went to the person who bid the most just like any other auction. Now they have gone back to a first come first serve idea. So the person that signs in first gets to pick which horse they want first. Usually they make the horse available for viewing the night before, I would suggest going if possible.
Some advice:
1. Don't look for the "two fur" The pregnant mare. The idea that you'll get two horses for the price of one is great until the mare delivers and you can't get near either one. Really sucks if there are complications with the delivery.
2. Younger is better. If you can get a yearling they will be the easiest of all.
3. Mares are actually more dangerous to work with than stallions. You can always geld the stallion, and although a stallion has the balls - in the wild (and pretty much everywhere else), the mare decides where they go!
Best of Luck!
go to www.blm.gov
prob $150 at the most $50 at the cheepest
In NV %26 WY they are 150.$$
I know here in CA it is $125. I believe that is what it is no matter where. Basicly there is an auction on the first day and what every doesn't sell is adoptable for $125. The auction usually sells off the weanlings and horse with neat paint jobs (appalossas, pintos, buckskin, palominos). I bought my girl for $125 and she is the most amazing horse. Good Luck!
The minimum or base adoption fee for each wild horse or burro is $125. Mares and jennies (female burros) adopted with their unweaned foal are $250. Most adoptions use competitive bidding to establish the adoption fee. The base adoption fee applies to adoptions using a lottery draw, or a first-come, first-served method. Since March 1997, when competitive bid regulations were approved, the average adoption fee has remained around $125 per animal. Some animals do adopt for a higher amount during the competitive process, but the average remains within the $125.
I knew someone that purchased one at one of the auctions. She said the prices varied alot but she got a filly for $150.00.
the average is $125 so that means you could get one for more or for less. in AZ if you can catch one you can have it. I've never got close to one yet though
