As the others said, it depends on the horses natural ability, confidence and willingness= not breed or height. Some horses really like it and others don't or just do it to please us.
I had 14.2 hand Morgan/ Arab pony back in the day that could clear 4 and a half feet no problem, course after course. Now, I have a 16.2 hand appendix that wont jump more then 2 foot (he really doesn't like to jump, so he's more of a pet now) Anyway, point being...no one can say.
If you would like to find out, I would suggest free jumping him, but mind you don't hike it up to fast or do too much in one day; because he could pull something if he isn't used to it. Good Luck...Happy Jumping!
Well that depends on the horse. Soundness, build, natural ability, age...There have been ponies compete in the highest level of Show Jumping and Eventing (for example, Olympic Show Jumper Stroller), so anything's possible if the horse has the ability.
It depends on the horse. The pony Theodore O'Connor placed 3rd at Rolex(an international eventing competition) this year. So he galloped for miles jumping obstacles 4ft tall and 6.5ft wide.
it really depends on the horse's jumping abitlities, but I woul estimate the highest around 4' 5".
It depends on the horses conformation, and how long her/his legs are, but like 3.5'-4.5'
Hope this helps u!
Did you watch the Kentucky Rolex 3 Day Event? There was a 14'1 hh pony there that jumped 5ft+ jumps, some with 6ft spreads on them! And he was up against 17hh horses, he came in THIRD! A 15hh horse can jump as well as any other horse, it's just a matter of how fit they are and sound , trained etc... Just don't push it too fast, work up to the bigger jumps slowly!
It all depends on the horse's ability and training. I used to ride a 15.2hh cob x TB that could jump 4ft 11 with ease from a trot - he was great fun!
Don't forget that Stroller and Marion Coakes won the Hickstead Derby in 1967 and he was only 14.2hh. He also won silver at the 1968 Olympics. Read more about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/stroller_%2...
For mules, over 6 ft.
My Morab mare was 15.2 and easily went over a 5' high 5' wide oxer. She absolutely LOVED to jump; so much so that it was impossible to ride hunter classes on her.
It definitely depends on the horse. I have seen smaller horses jumping over five feet! You need an experienced trainer to tell you about that specific horse.
It dependes on the size of the rider. Say the rider is 130 pounds, the horse can probably do 3'6". If it's free jumping withought a rider I'd say about 4'7".
Well it t depends on the horse
but mine can jump a metre 35 at apush
xx
