Has anyone had any experience with hurricane katrina horses? I'd love to rescue one and get it back on it's feet.
I'm fully prepared to help them over come any mental and/or physical problems-- but i was just wondering how the majority of them are? Are most of them pretty mentally unstable or are they actually pretty OK?
I have a talent with helping horses that have once been abused or that have mental issues, so i really would like to help out a horse with those problems-- i thought that hurricane katrina victims would most likely show those characteristics. Is that true?
How has your experience been with them? or someone you know?
Please share and thanks!!

Call the ASPCA, we called down with room in our stable but they told us the horses could not be transported to our location, I found it was a huge ordeal just to help one horse so we went back to taking in ex racers with the extra space.
A girl at my barn has a katrina horse and she is a normal horse. She was green broke but she's good with other horses, easy to load and haul, and she has been coming along well in her training. Almost all horses have some sort of baggage so it shouldn't be that much of a problem for, esp. because you are fairly experienced with horses with lots of baggage (correct?)
They might have some water/storm problems but I'm sure it's not a big enough issue to NOT rescue one over.
