Has anyone here worked with Friesans? In a week or two i'm going up to a barn where I will be breaking and working with them! I've never worked with them before and I'm so excited: What are they like? Any stories? Anything I should know? :] Thanks!

hey hey!! one of my best friends that I ride with a lot has a one!! he is huge but he is soooo sweet...(gentle giant)! she has had him forever and he has never given her or any of us a problem!! he is the first one to come when you call and will lick(not bite)but literally lick you to death..if you are sweaty he will just like the salt right off you and he is in no way pushy!! you are awesome with horses and will do a GREAT job! have fun and be safe!! I have never heard anything bad about that breed either so you should have fun!! they are also REALLY smooth!! good luck! :)

They are incredible to ride, i have 1, they feel like u have so much power under u.
ive heard from an old friend that owned one said that the one they had was high strong when they got him but after some handling he was a sweetheart. he was very smart and he picked up on things very fast. he tried to outsmart her in a lot of things. you know a lot about horses so u'll do great!
good luck, im so jealous, ive always wanted to work with Friesians, they are so beautiful.
Look on an information website
they are huge, but very gentle
They are very beautiful. Look up information on them on the internet.
LOVE THEM CHERSIH THEM, they are the most incredible horses. I have been around every other breed and owned and bred so many others. But at first look I coompletely fell for this magnificant horse. I was amazed and impressed buy how pure the breeding has been kept and regulated. I currently have 3 and I am about to import the 4th from Europe. They are amazing, their gaits is like no others, and can take time to get use to. My stallion is very well manered and natured as are my others. They all have their own personalities but I have never had a bad expereince with one. Mine are all younger and I would not say they are for the inexperienced. They are intelligent and are easy to be around. Nicolo my 8 year old is a prankster and a clown. He is always in trouble regardless. He is my baby and I would not trade him. They can be spirited but nothing more than others. I would not say they are quiet like a Quarter Horse.
You will love and be amzed by them.
Fresians are huge but gentle. They normally have a lovely temperament but, depending on their age, never underestimate them. They are easy learners and a joy to ride! You shouldn't have any problems if you are an experienced rider.
Good luck
I have broke %26 trained 12 of them. My sister owns 3 of them.They are generaly easy to work with. They a good size!! The colts I've worked with were bratty!! But I love working with them!! They are good horses on the norm! I have found that I had to be a little heavyier handed than with my Morgans. But it may be because of their size. I broke them bareback, I like to feel them under me. I have had great experiance with them!! I even trained one to be a trick horse! He is awsome!! Good luck!
Lucky. =)
