After a fungus, such as rain rot, how long dos it take for a horse's hair to grow back?
Answers:
It all depends on how bad the case was, and if you removed it all... Rain rot can be a rough job... Make sure you use some form of disinfectant for brushes(every time you brush the horse until you are for sure the rain rot is gone, because it will come back), use a soap like iodine soap and break the scabs off. Then treat it with MTG and if you have successfully removed all the rain rot, it shouldn't take but a few days before you start seeing the hair growing back... Just make sure all the Rain rot is gone!
Go buy some MTG (shapelys mane and tail) and apply daily. You will see hair regrowing in just a couple days. Stinks like crazy but works like magic regrowing hair.
Rainrot isnt a big deal. My horse has had it but we did not treat it and it just went away. Im not sure how long it takes but it may take a month or two
Horse hair grows back pretty quick. I would give the horse a bath with M-T-G (not soap) every other day for a week after rainrot; it'll keep the fungus from re-establishing its colony.
